2023 – Després de tot (After all)

Een tragikomedie die zich een toekomst voorstelt van waaruit we ons heden kunnen bekijken en lezen.
Het is het verhaal van een gemeenschap die probeert te overleven aan de rand van elke beschaving, een landschap dat Google waarschijnlijk aan de rand van de wereld zou plaatsen. Onder leiding van een kunstenaarsfamilie besluiten zij de betekenis te vieren die ons hoop geeft om elke nieuwe dag te leven.
Omringd door wilde vegetatie en ongetemde technologie die een levenskrachtige ziel in stand lijkt te houden, zal de gemeenschap zich proberen te verzetten tegen het einde van hun tijdperk door circusacts op te voeren, openluchtbioscopen op te zetten, intellectuele bijeenkomsten en genezingsrituelen. Geconfronteerd met een leven dat geen menselijk bestaan nodig heeft om te bestaan, zal beetje bij beetje datgene worden blootgelegd wat ons als mensheid als een oneindige wond vormt. Waarom staan we er immers op om overal te bestaan? Een straatshow, waarin de grote circusacts worden getoond die met elk van hen verband houden…

After all, it is a tragicomedy that imagines a future from which to look at and read our present. It is the story of a community trying to survive on the periphery of any civilisation, a landscape that Google would probably place on the fringes of the world. Led by a family of artists, they decide to celebrate the meaning that gives us hope to live each new day.
Surrounded by wild vegetation and untamed technology that seems to sustain a life-imitating soul, the community will try to resist the end of their era by performing circus acts, setting up open-air cinemas, intellectual gatherings and healing rituals. Faced with a life that does not need human existence in order to exist, little by little all that which, like an infinite wound, constitutes us as humanity will be uncovered. Why, after all, do we insist on existing everywhere?
The trailer is the shortest version of all. It is concieved as street show, introducing the characters and showing the great circus acts related to each one of them. It has it’s own dramaturgy, which makes it independent but related to the whole saga.
