2023 – Salto Robotale

Een modern eerbetoon aan de traditionele circuswereld en het circus in het bijzonder.
Het zogenaamde Extreme Circus is een speciaal soort Cirque Nouveau – een hoogstaand, op de straat geïnspireerd genre met een groter improvisatiegehalte en een esthetiek die nog meer speelt met vrije vormen.
De muziek is veelzijdig: ook hiphop, beatboxing of virtuoze percussieinstrumenten worden gebruikt.
Het vertelt het verhaal van een Circusgezelschap, op weg naar de moderne tijd met een nieuwe, sensationele attractie: een industriële robot. Dit nieuwe wilde machinemonster moet nu getemd, getraind en tot een sensationele nieuwe act gemaakt worden. Iedereen claimt de robot voor zichzelf en zijn eigen discipline. Oude disciplines worden aangepast en er ontstaat iets unieks nieuws. Salto Robotale ontwikkelt een geheel eigen charme en poëzie die het publiek niet verwacht.
Kunst, jongleren, partneracrobatiek, Chinese paal en luchtacrobatiek worden gecombineerd met verwijzingen naar strips, films en videogames. Deze combinaties zijn onvermijdelijk!

A modern homage to the traditional circus world and the circus in particular. The so-called Extreme Circus is a special kind of Cirque Nouveau – a high-performance, street-inspired genre with greater improvisational content and an aesthetic that plays even more with free forms. The music is wide-ranging: hip-hop, beatboxing or virtuoso percussion instruments are also used. (Quote) It tells the story of a Circus Company, on its way to the modern age.
A new, sensational attraction is to be presented: An industrial robot. This new wild machine monster must now be tamed, trained and made into a sensational new act. Everyone claims the robot for themselves and their own discipline.
Old disciplines are modified and something uniquely new is created. Salto Robotale develops a charm and poetry all of its own, which the audience would not expect. Artistry, juggling, partner acrobatics, Chinese pole and aerial acrobatics are combined with references to comics, films and video games. These combinations are not random, but inevitable!
