2019 – Vuurlantaarns

Een tot 1,5 kilometer lange lijn versterkt de natuurlijke lijnen van
een stad en verbindt subtiel de epicentra van een evenement. In
Ieper te bezichtigen over 800 meter.

Over De Vuurmeesters (Be): De Vuurmeesters blazen hun tiende kaarsje uit. Of moeten we zeggen : « amper hun tiende kaarsje », want we hebben ze intussen leren kennen als de compagnie die elk jaar Ieper trakteert op een nieuwe première. En net zoals de vorige jaren hebben ze de Ieperse Vesten als speelterrein, waar de weerspiegeling van het water een extra dimensie geeft aan de natuurlijke gezelligheid van de vuurvoorstellingen. Dit jaar is de première de Vuurparade Live. In 2017 heeft de compagnie haar originele concept de Vuurparade een complete make-over gegeven. Onder muzikale begeleiding van de oostvlaamse gipsyband ‘Djurdjevak’, met een gewijzigde regie, kostumering en enscenering gaat deze mobiele vuurvoorstelling nu op zoek naar het plezier achter het spelen met vuur. Let wel : deze voorstelling duurt normaalgesproken 1 uur, maar in Ieper worden slechts proevertjes van telkens 20 minuten gebracht! In 2017 kon de methode van de Monumentale voor het eerst in Ieper worden bewonderd, dit jaar komt dit concept opnieuw, maar in een andere uitgewerkte uitvoering. . De Monumentale Creatie valt onder de noemer ‘temporary art’. De evolutie van het werk doorheen de tijd is een vierdimensionele ode aan de geometrie.

About De Vuurmeesters (Be): “De Vuurmeester s” is a street theater collective within Cirque del Mundo association. The artists of ” De Vuurmeesters ” have years of experience and a long history: some had already experience with fire performances, street theater, organizing workshops and pyrotechnics. Others had more experience with art projects, painting, welding, building sets, blowing glass or gas installations. From the centralized atelier and circus rehearsal rooms of Cirque del Mundo, they started to work on a new idea: creation of ambiance with fire and soon after the first artistic fire installations were a fact. It was only in preparation of their third public performance in the City of Wings Festival in Ypres, that the concept would take its final shape. Since “De Vuurmeesters” evolved tremendously, both artistically and professionally. The Magic of De Vuurmeesters is not only creating an alienating atmosphere in the fire village, but also the passion with which it is built and created. Both on stage, in the workshop and on the computer the passion lights up.
