2019 – Hands some Feet

Hand Some Feet is een dynamische en vernieuwende circusshow, die een evenwicht zoekt tussen jongleren en koorddansen. Aangevuld met acrobatie, theaterspel, touwspringen en unieke liveklanken door typische Finse en Australische muziekinstrumenten. Hun inspiratie voor de show haalden Jeromy en Liisa uit de Finse taal: Hepuli. Hepuli staat voor een positieve of negatieve uitbarsting van emotie, die niemand kan weerstaan. Het duo toont een interpretatie van het woord Hepuli. Dit Fins woord betekent een explosie van positieve of negatieve emoties, zo heftig dat zelfs de grootste en meest geciviliseerde apen ze niet kunnen weerstaan. Over Hands some Feet (Oostenrijk – Frankrijk): Hands Some Feet is een circus duo bestaande uit Liisa Näykki (FI) en Jeromy Zwick (AUS/CH). Ze studeerden, leerden elkaar kennen en vielen voor elkaar tijdens hun tijd aan de National Circus School van België. De naam ‘hands some Feet’ komt simpelweg door het feit dat Jeromy vooral zijn handen gebruikt tijdens zijn circusacts (jongleren) en dat Liisa vooral haar voeten gebruikt als koorddanser. Samen combineren ze deze onderdelen met acrobatie, touwspringen, live muziek en theater.

Hands some Feet is a dynamic and fresh contemporary circus show, seamlessly combining the mastery of juggling and tightwire. Complemented by innovative acrobatics, physical theatre, skipping ropes and live music from the unique instruments of Australia and Finland. The piece is made by Liisa Näykki (FI) and Jeromy Zwick (AUS/CH) and is powered by their unconditional passion to create together. The inspiration for the show is from a special word found only in the Finnish language: Hepuli. Hepuli means to have a negative or positive burst of emotion, that even the most civilised great ape can not withstand. This duo serves a universal interpretation of young couples under the spell of hepuli.

About Hands some Feet (Austria – France): Hands some Feet is a circus duo with Liisa Näykki (FI) and Jeromy Zwick (AUS/CH). They studied, met and fell for one another at the national circus school of Belgium, in Brussels “École Supérieure des Arts du Cirque” (ESAC) where they both received a bachelor diploma in circus arts. The name “Hands some Feet” comes from Jeromy using his hands for his main circus discipline which is juggling and for Liisa her feet which she uses the most as a tightwire dancer. They come together combining these parts of themselves and their specialized circus technics of tight wire and juggling, along with acrobatics, jump ropes, live music and physical theatre.
