2019 – Ocho the Octopus

Een baanbrekende opblaasbare octopus met 8 onafhankelijk van elkaar bewegende poten die in staat zijn om levensecht te krullen en te zwaaien. Ocho is groot! 4 meter hoog en 7 meter breed wat het woweffect op de toeschouwers verhoogt. Terzelfdertijd stelt het controle-mechanisme de pop staat om een spontane interactie op te bouwen met het publiek. Ocho is een lichtgewicht, gemakkelijk te bedienen door één enkele poppenspeler, lenig en sympathiek naar de toeschouwer. Met zijn zacht vel is hij aaibaar en veilig voor aanrakingen van volwassenen en kinderen. Ocho is uitgerust met LED lichten voor verbluffende verlichte voorstellingen in het donker. Ocho is een mobiele act die grote massa’s bij zijn spel kan betrekken. Hij doet het goed in voetgangerszones en straten, maar kan ook optreden op podia of als onderdeel van een stoet.

A ground breaking, inflatable octopus, with 8 independently articulated legs able to curl and sway in a lifelike fashion for walkabout performances. Ocho is huge – 4m high and 7m wide – maximising the immediate wow-impact on spectators. At the same time, its delicate control mechanism enables the puppet to build spontaneous rapport with its audience. Lightweight and
easy to manoeuvre by a single puppeteer, it is nimble and responsive to those it meets. With soft skin it is tactile and safe for close contact with adults and children. Ocho is also fitted with LED lights for stunning illuminated performances at night and in the winter. Ocho is a walkabout act capable of engaging large audiences as it moves around the performance space. Ocho works well in pedestrian areas and streets but can also perform on stage or as part of a procession.
