2019 – Mr. Train

Mr. Train vertelt de relatie tussen een verdwaalde hond en een eenzame, knorrige, enigszins afstandelijk oude man die leeft in een treinstation waar niemand voorbijkomt. Vanaf hun eerste ontmoeting wilde de man niets te maken hebben met die hond, maar op onverklaarbare wijze komt de hond dol op de man en maakt hel tot zijn voorwerp van affectie. Mr. Train is een verhaal vol ironie en humor, gebaseerd op een surreële haat-liefde relatie. Het is een persoonlijk gevecht, waarin de situaties en de excentriciteit ervan alterneren tussen tederheid en humor. Over Trukitrek (SP.): Het Catalaans gezelschap Trukitrek begon in 1998. De leden kwamen uit verschillende artistieke achtergronden met als bindmiddel een reizend poppentheatergezelschap op te richten. Trukitrek is gespecialiseerd in shows die bewegingstheater combineert met de wereld van de poppenspel. Het bewegingstheater brengt een universeel soort humor, vanuit de interpreaties van de acteurs. De poppen brengen rijkdom en dynamisme in de show. Het gezelschap werkt met verschillende technieken in het manipuleren van de poppen, van klassieke draadpoppen tot directe manipulatie van de poppen, met in het bijzonder de “humanette” stijl, waarbij de spelers half menselijk half pop zijn. Hun shows zijn komisch, zonder woorden met poppen, muziek en visuele poëzie als constante elementen. De mime als universele taal en de unieke scenografie leidden de groep naar 33 landen, overal ter wereld.

Mr. Train narrates the relationship between a stray dog and a lonely, grouchy, somewhat standoffish old man, who lives in a train station where no-one passes by. From their first encounter, the old man always wanted nothing to do with the dog, but the dog inexplicably becomes fond of the old man, turning him into his object of affection. Mr. Train is a tale full of irony and humour, based on a surreal love-hate relationship. It is about a personal battle, in which the looks and the eccentricity of situations alternate between tenderness and humour. About Trukitrek (SP.): The Catalan company Trukitrek has born in 1998. Its members came from different artistic backgrounds. They joined with the idea of forming a traveling company of puppet theatre. Trukitrek specializes in producing shows that combining gestural theatre with the world of puppetry. The gestural theatre provides a universal type of humour, based on the interpretation of the actors. And the puppets technique brings wealth and dynamism to the show. The company works with different techniques of manipulating puppets, from classic puppet thread, till direct manipulation of puppets. Notably the style “humanette”, where the characters are half and half human and puppet. The performances of the company propose a comic staging without words, where puppets, music and visual poetry are constant elements. The mime as universal language and the original scenic proposal, have led the company to several international tours. Trukitrek has performed its shows in 33 countries around the world.
