Korpus (performance)
De performance kent twee delen. In het eerste deel maakt Korpus zijn opkomst en baant hij zijn weg door publiek en omgeving. Op zoek naar zijn wederhelft. Er komt altijd een moment dat hij die vindt. In dit geval een meisje dat zweeft onder de boom. In de performance zoeken ze toenadering en maken verschillende poëtisch associatieve beelden: Korpus houdt het meisje wiegend in zijn armen, ze ‘kruipt’ terug in de buik van Korpus, ze omhelzen elkaar, dansen samen, etc.

The performance has two parts. In the first part Korpus makes its entrance and finds its way through public and environment. Looking for its other half. There always comes a time when Korpus finds it. In this case, a girl who floats underneath a tree. In this performance they try to find an approach and create various poetical associative images: Korpus holds the girl cradled in its arms, she ‘crawls’ back into the belly of Korpus, they embrace each other, dance together, …
Korpus (walking act)
De wit belijnde Korpus wordt bestuurd door zes poppenspelers. Door zijn mobiliteit is hij in staat te dansen, lopen, bukken, tijgeren, vliegen en handen te geven aan publiek en tegenspeler. Korpus heeft ook nog een zwarte variant. Deze pop kan heliumballonnen in zich dragen. Om ze vervolgens op commando los te laten. Dat resulteert in een poëtisch melancholisch beeld wat doet denken aan het verliezen van de ziel. De ziel, een wolk ballonnen, blijft via een touwensysteem hangen ver boven het lege lichaam.

The white lined Korpus is controled by six puppeteers. Due to its mobility, it is able to dance, walk, bend, creep, fly and shake hands with audience and opponent. Korpus also has a black version. This doll can wear helium balloons in its body and release them on command. This results in a poetic melancholic image reminiscent of losing the soul. The soul, a cloud of balloons, remains hanging on a rope system far above the empty body.
Bouwjaar ’84 doet aan smeltkroezen. Het is een interdisciplinair performance collectief waarin dans, muziek, visuals, design en theater één geheel vormen. Daarnaast hebben ze een heus theater in Tilburg bij elkaar gejut. Bouwjaar ‘84 houdt van rauwe poëtische beelden, gecreëerd door live performers, die als een totaalbeleving met de locatie versmelten.
Korpus is een acht meter hoog mobiel object in de vorm van een mensenlichaam. Het van glasfiber gemaakte lichaam beweegt zich behendig door natuurlijke en stadse omgevingen. Hij verschijnt op plekken waar je hem niet verwacht, zoals vanachter een boom, vanuit het water, van in het donker. Altijd opzoek naar zijn wederhelft.

Bouwjaar ’84 performs crucibles. It’s an interdisciplinary performance collective who combine dance, music, visuals, design and theatre. They are based in their own theatre in Tilburg. Bouwjaar ’84 likes raw poetical images, created by live performers, which merge with the location into a total experience.
Korpus is an eight-meter high mobile object in the shape of a human body. The body made out of fiberglass moves through natural and urban environments. It appears in places where you least expect it: behind a tree, out of the water, in the dark. Always looking for its other half.
