2019 – Schachmatt

Het bord is gezet, de klok tikt, het spel begint: in de flair van een stomme film neemt de bekroonde show “Schachmatt” # (schaakmat) het publiek mee naar de wereld van een schaakwedstrijd, die uit de hand loopt op een amusante maar poëtische manier. Beginnend met de precisie van een accurate schaakspeler, evolueert de partij naar een artistieke achtervolging waarbij schaakfiguren ontwaken en tot leven komen, het schaakbord groeit tot een enorme omvang.
Tijdens deze chaos probeert de schaakspeler wanhopig controle te houden over zijn wervelende tegenstander met haar trucs en stunts. De choreografie bestaat uit verbluffende handto-hand acrobatiek en hilarisch slapsticktheater, inclusief springen, klimmen, balanceren en de artiesten die elkaar in de lucht katapulteren. De show Schachmatt” won verschillende internationale prijzen en is een stuk die geschikt is voor alle leeftijden. Het maakt geen gebruik van taal, waardoor het nog spannender wordt.

Over Elabö (Dui): Bö “, dat is de korte windvlaag die alles in beweging zet voor nu en je doet afvragen hoe de wereld om je heen begint te wervelen en vliegen. Elabö “, dat zijn wij, Anne en Mitja. In 2012 zijn we gestart met trainen en samenwerken. Eén jaar later verhuisden we naar Spanje om samen te studeren aan de Circus en Theaterschool CAU in Spanje. Sinds de zomer van 2015 hebben we deelgenomen aan een aantal nationale en internationale festivals en evenementen onder de naam “Anne & Mitja” en later als “elabö”.

The board is set, the clock is ticking, the game begins: In the flair of a silent movie, the award-winning show „Schachmatt “ (checkmate) takes the audience into the world of a chess match, which gets out of hand in an amusing yet poetic way. Starting with the precision of an accurate chess player, the party evolves into an artistic chase with chess figures awakening to life, the chess board growing to an enormous size, while amidst this chaos the chess player Desperately attempts to stay in control over his whirling opponent with her tricks and stunts. The choreography consists of stunning hand-to-hand acrobatics and hilarious slapstick theater, including jumping, climbing, balancing and the artists catapulting each other into the air. The show „Schachmatt“ won several international prices and is a piece suitable for all ages. It does not use language, which makes it even more exciting.

About Elabö (GER): “Bö”, that is the short gust of wind that sets everything in motion for a moment and makes you wonder how the world around you starts to whirl and fly. “elabö” that´s us, Anne and Mitja. In 2012, we began to train and work together. One year later, we moved to Spain to study together at the Circus and Theater School CAU in Spain. Since the summer of 2015, we have been taking part in a number of national and international festivals and events under the name of “Anne & Mitja” and later as “elabö”.
