2019 – cave of glass MFX3.1

Cave of Glass is een hedendaagse interpretatie van Plato s
‘Allegorie van de grot. Het is een flat screen glazen laboratorium . Een interactieve licht installatie. Een brouwerij die speelt met de perceptuele verwarring van de werkelijkheid. Hier zijn gevangenen niet langer vastgeketend maar trachten ze met chirurgische rituelen terug te keren naar de kern van het leven, reizend doorheen oerwouden en de raadselachtige fragilteit van het leven.
De installatie loopt gedurende de avond en bevat een korte raw
liquide performance .

Over lize blauw (BE): Lize Verlooy aka BLAUW (België) is freelance kunstenaar en performer. Studeerde aan Phiko, Hasselt. Werd keramiste en vervolgt later meerdere opleidingen zoals textielkunst figurentheater en licht techniek. Duikt als autodidacte in de alchemie van elektronica en mycelium . Gedreven door de fascinatie van processen en de diepere mechanisme van het leven, ontwikkelt ze bewegende multimediale sculpturen , assemblages van gemixte technieken en gerecycleerde materialen. Deze filmische installaties of recycled fairytails versmelten mythology , archetypes en shamanisme met hedendaagse thematieken, in een open en interactief opzet. Ze stelt in tal van belgische en nederlandse steden tentoon en op Festivals als Robodock (2005 Amsterdam), BIFF film festival (2006 Brussel) , recycl Art (2004 Brussel), Rdece Zora, The Arch in Genk . Haar laatste lichtinstallatie ‘Cave of glas’ een filosofische interpretatie van Plato s ‘Allegorie van de grot’ was sinds 2012 te zien in o.a. de ‘Biennale van Limburg’ 2012 Kunstencentrum ‘ Belgie”. Ze werkte samen met Circus ‘Ronaldo, Gokhan Girginol in ‘ ‘Robin Hassan hood”, en Maya Wuytack. In ‘Ademlozing’ een moderne ‘Icarus’ Mythe en ’Beyond the body’ creëert ze life visuals met analoge REAL time projecties. Vloeibare lichteratuur met rauwe materialen in aardse landschap-pen tegen constructen van verpakkingsarchitectuur en geluidsfrequenties in wateroppervlaktes.

Cave of Glass is an alternative contemporary interpretation of
Plato s ‘ Allegory of the cave’ . It is flat screen type of image , an interactive light installation projecting its inside on the outer glass frame. A brewery that plays with the perceptual confusion of reality. Here prisoners are no longer chained but act in a ritualistic
surgery dyging into the nucleus of life. Exploring amazonian forests and the enigmatic fragilety of life . It s an all round installation during the whole evening and contains a small raw liquid performance.

About lize blauw (BE): Lize Verlooy aka Lize BLAUW is a freelance artist and performer. Driven by her fascination for natural processes and the deeper mechanics of life, she started digging in the alchemy of ceramics and its geological principles. Creating lavas and melted earth … In search for the mechanics and the deeper flux of life, always looking for the soul in things, she creates multi-media sculptures and installations, assemblings that mixes multiple techniques into cinematic installations. Recylced fairytales fusing mythology, archetypes and animism with contemporary thematics. An artistic shamanic ritual Interactive and open for dialogue. After finishing a Master in Ceramics at PHIKO in Hasselt in 1995, she continued a long traject crossing many other disciplines and collaborations. Textile, figure theater, drawing, lighting technics…the urge to learn is a state of mind in adaptability. Her works appeared in several Europian cities, Robodock Amsterdam , Bifff Brussel ,Rdece Zora in Slovenia. In 2010 Liza started collaborating with circus, theater and music. Since 2011 she became a partner in crime in Post.TRAUM collective. More recently she developed a wide range of life visuals in ‘The Arch’ in Genk. Since a couple of years she involved in the collectiveness of the musical constellation ‘Planete concrète‘ Not as a creature but as Number 78.3.
